We've upgraded! As you remember, Season 1 of the RonCon Show was exclusively for 91.7FM and Wheeler Broadcasting. This year, we are now making our show for WELH Providence also. Below, you will find some information about WELH. Our broadcasting solt is for 12:00 AM, on Saturday. Our show is LIVE as always on listen.ronconshow.org. Because we are being recorded and put on WELH, we have a bit of a change in formatting. We are cutting our Traffic Segment. As much fun as we had, this is impossible to do for a Recorded Show. But, instead of that, we'll be adding: "Providence: This Weekend" On this segment, we'll talk about everything going on this weekend in Providence!
Thank you to everyone who has continued to listen to our show. We love making it, and will continue to make it for years to come.
About WELH
Current station director David Schiano said, "As we celebrate the 30th anniversary in 2016, Wheeler School Broadcasting (wheelerschoolbroadcasting.org) is the school’s new multimedia website which incorporates live radio, live video and archived Wheeler events. As we move into a multimedia world, the focus of our program has turned to offering Wheeler on-demand content, available on any device, worldwide. As we continue to enhance the unique Aerie program that WELR/WELH started at Wheeler in the late 80's, Wheeler School Broadcasting now captures the same spirit and students are able to create, record, edit and produce content that is available for all to see. This program is so very unique at the grade-school level, and has become a staple of Aerie and of the Wheeler community at large, serving that same community with NPR programming on WELH FM, and now globally showcasing our amazing students on wheelerschoolbroadcasting.org." - wheelerschoolbroadcasting.org
WELH (88.1 FM) is a radio station owned by The Wheeler School of Providence, Rhode Island. Originally signing on in January 1995 with a pop alternative format and a line up of student DJs, WWKX veterans including Kickin Al Snape, a young Robby Bridges and others as "WELH: Taking Music to New Heights". In 1996 the station moved to a modern rock format programmed by student DJs as "Extreme 88", and later jazz and oldies, eventually offering programming from various groups (including Brown University, Rhode Island College, the Wheeler School itself, and community groups). Since October 8, 2011, WELH has broadcast programming from Rhode Island Public Radio.[2] Its main studio is located on school grounds, at 216 Hope St. in Providence; however, as the flagship station of Rhode Island Public Radio, virtually all programming originates at the network's studios at Union Station in downtown Providence. - Wikipedia & Wheeler School Knowlage
